About APAC 2027

The International Conference on Asian and Pacific Coasts (APAC) is an international conference dedicated to promoting academic and technical exchange on coastal-related studies among countries and regions in Asia and the Pacific. Its scope covers a broad spectrum of topics, including coastal engineering, coastal environmental issues, nearshore hydrodynamics, sediment transport, coastal morphology, natural hazards, and sustainable coastal management. APAC is jointly supported by the Chinese Ocean Engineering Society (COES), the Coastal Engineering Committee of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE), and the Korean Society of Coastal and Ocean Engineers (KSCOE), with active participation and support from a wide range of organizations across the Asian and Pacific regions. The conference is held biennially.

The first conference was held in Dalian, China, in 2001 under the name of Asian and Pacific Coastal Engineering (APACE). To better reflect its expanded academic scope, the conference was later renamed Asian and Pacific Coasts (APAC). Since then, it has been organized every two years in different countries and regions, including Japan (2004), Korea (2005), China (2007), Singapore (2009), Hong Kong (2011), Indonesia (2013), India (2015), the Philippines (2017), Vietnam (2019), Japan (2023), and Korea (2025). The next conference, APAC 2027, will be held in Nanjing, China, from October 19 to 23, 2027.
